ABOUT US
As the Civil Engineering Education and Training Board (CEITB). It served as the training authority for the South African Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors (SAFCEC). With the advent of a democratic South Africa the Skills Development Act was promulgated in 1998. This Act introduced the Sectoral Education and Training Authorities (SETAs). These newly established bodies absorbed the functions of the training boards.
In 1999, in line with the Skills Development Act, CEITB was converted to a Non-Profit Company, Construction Industry Education and Training Services (CIETS,) reinventing itself into an accredited training provider committed to offering outstanding services to a wide range of stakeholders, utilising its knowledge and passion. In 2012 the Company changed its name to Izwe Training & Development NPC extending its services to sectors beyond the construction industry.
Currently, with the high unemployment and school dropout rates, Izwe Training & Development has expanded its services to cater for the private individual too. The “Be Your Own Boss” self-reliance programme aims to provide the candidates with the skills to start and run their own small businesses.
